Biographical Notes:

Disabled by dysentery and discharged from the AIF in September 1916. Returned to New Zealand and joined the staff of Otago Boys' High School in February 1917. Died in Dunedin from pneumonia following influenza "which he contracted while assisting to fight the epidemic". [Particulars from the Rector, Otago Boys' High School]
