Biographical Notes:

An Oxford, piloted by William Krogh,  Archibald Hull  and Herbert von Tunzelman took off from Harewood at 0900 and with Flight Mechanic, Albert Duffell.

15 minutes later they encountered fog and crashed into a hillside near Kaituna, Ataahua, opposite Lake Ellesmere. 4 other aircraft, on the same live firing exercise, were successfully recalled.
