Biographical Notes:

On 6th January 1941, Flying a Tiger Moth from Hobsonville, he overshot the runway and, in attempting a turn, spun and stalled, crashing into the Waitemata harbour near Whau Creek. Although injured, he was helped out of the aircraft by his co-pilot, Flying Off. Peter Worsp and admitted to hospital in Auckland. Later transferred to Wellington Hospital, he died form his injuries in the 27th September 1942. Peter Worsp died serving in the Pacific on 24th December 1943 in is commemorated on the Bourail Memorial.
