Biographical Notes:

"The death occurred after a motor car accident in England of Captain Basil T. J. Jones, formerly of Dargaville, whose wife and two children reside in Te Kuiti. Capt. Basil Jones was a Northern Wairoa and North Auckland Rugby forward and a keen fire-bridgadesman. He was captured in Sidi Rezegh, and had been repatriated to England."
