Biographical Notes:

"SOLDIER FROM HAMILTON Official advice has been received by Mrs L. M. Thomas, of Onehunga, that her son, Private Bruce Gladstone Thomas, formerly of Hamilton, has been killed while on active service. Private Thomas, who left New Zealand with the Third Echelon 15 months ago, on his 20th birthday, was educated at the Ellerslie and Papakura schools, and for several years was engaged in farming near Hamilton. A brother is Sergeant Major Ft. A. Thomas, of the No. 4 Military District headquarters staff at Hamilton, and a sister is Mrs H. Holland, of Claudelands, with whom Mrs Thomas senior is staying."
