Biographical Notes:

"Mr Charles Llewellyn Jowers, aged 38, second son of Mr and Mrs C. H. Jowers,of Pahiatua, passed away in the Wellington Hospital recently. Mr Jowers was a member of the R.N.Z.A.F. He was educated at the Tane and Pahiatua schools, and later engaged in farming. On joining the Air Force he spent three months in camp and then proceeded to Canada, but he became ill in that country and returned to New Zealand. He entered the Wellington Hospital in November, and passed away in January. In his younger days Mr Jowers was a keen Rugby footballer and also took an interest in cricket."
