Biographical Notes:

"CARTERTON, Jan. 23. A discharged soldier, Charles Marshall Dix, "A" Company, 22nd Reinforcements, was found at Carrington Park on Sunday with his throat cut, and was removed to the Greytown Hospital, where he expired at 8.30 last night. Deceased was discharged from camp on January 18 as medically unfit. He was a single man, aged 28, and his mother resides at Taupiri, Waikato."
