"Driver Douglas Claude Henderson, whose death from wounds is announced in the above casualty list was a native of Greymouth, and a son of Mr. Samuel Henderson of 25 Palmerston Street, Greymouth. He was aged 24 years, and enlisted at Greymouth in March, 1940. He was educated at the Greymouth Main and Greymouth Technical High Schools, and later entered the employ of the Greymouth Borough Council, as a clerk in the Council’s office. He is survived by his father, and three sisters, two residing in Greymouth, and one in Christchurch.
