Biographical Notes:

"Private Ernest J. McLaughlin died of wounds, was the second son of Mr and Mrs J. McLaughlin, Dunedin, and was 23 years of age. He left with the Thirteenth Reinforcements, and was wounded in the Somme battle, and was only a short time back at the front, when he received the fatal wounds."
