“Word has been received by Mr and Mrs W. Hunwick, of 1 Wha Street. Frankton Junction, that their youngest son, Hubert Haslev (Cappy) Hunwick, has been killed in action in Italy. Private Hunwick was born at Palmerston North and was 30 years of age. Educated at the Frankton School and the Hamilton Technical High School, he was a very keen footballer and cricketer. Before leaving for overseas Private Hunwick was employed by the Waikato Associated Builders on defence work. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
