Biographical Notes:

Cricketer, Gunner Harold Gold-Smith , NZ Field Artillery died in Edinburgh on February 12th.,1919, He was born in Tauranga, on July 17, 1888, when his surname was Goldsmith. An employee of the NZ Insurance Company, he was living in Epsom, Auckland on his enlistment in May 1918. He played a single first-class match for Hawke’s Bay against Wellington in March 1906.
He is buried in Edinburgh (Comely Bank) Cemetery.
Leaving New Zealand in October 1918, he arrived in the U.K too late to serve in combat, but died from Pneumonia following Influenza.
