Biographical Notes:

It is noted that John Foster's date of birth is given as 8 January 1883 in his Attestation (Service Record) and in his school records, however, Births, Deaths, and Marriages Online, has it as 7 January 1883. We have used 8 January as that seems to be the date used by John Foster.

Public Contributions:

The Cathedral Grammar School records (the school he went to) show that John Grierson Foster was born on the 8th of January 1883. [Record since amended - NZWGT]
