Biographical Notes:

John Reid was the 2nd Pilot and Thomas Strachan the Wireless Op. aboard a Wellington engaged in night time torpedo training on the Gulf of Suez.  Flying low and in mist, the aircraft veered off course and struck a bank. The five crew were killed.
