Biographical Notes:

“OKOROIRE MAN KILLED – Captain Kenneth G. Dee, reported killed in action, is the son of Mr and Mrs P. G. Dee, of Okoroire, and was well known in the Matamata district. He was educated at King’s College, Auckland, and engaged in farming at Okoroire. Always keen on military training, he held a commission in the Territorials when war broke out, and he left New Zealand with the Second Echelon with the rank of lieutenant, gaining promotion to captain after service in Greece and Crete.” [Waikato Times, Volume 131, Issue 21877, 4 November 1942, Page 2]
