Buried about 1,500 yards south-south-west of Achiet-le-Petit, which is north-west of Bapaume. A brother, 2nd Lieut. Knight wrote to his sister: "We were successful in holding the enemy for some time, but were driven back at last. Your brother, after making a very brave stand, was shot by a machine gun just as he was retiring. He died instantly, a very brave death. I have never met a braver, cleaner living, straighter man during my three years in the trenches. This is the opinion of all the officers and men in his company.""
