Biographical Notes:

Weishien  Civil Assembly Centre (seems like a poor translation!) was a Catholic Mission and Hospital, where up to 1000 civilians were interred by the Japanese in WW2. While we look for information on Mabel Young, it is worth noting that this camp is where Eric Liddell, noted Olympian ("Chariots of Fire") is also buried . He died 6 months before liberation from a brain tumor. Liddell's grave has a marker, placed around 1990, but it would seem that no other graves are marked, although a map of the cemetery does exist.

The camp, modern spelling Weixian, was in the present day city of Weifang, Shandong, China.
