Biographical Notes:

" A man was killed and two women were injured when a car, apparently out of control, hit a pole at the corner of Hackthorne Road and Cashmere Road, shortly before three o’clock this morning. They  were: Killed Michael James Brennan, aged 24, of Cholmondeley Ave. Injured Mrs. Clive Simpson, Hereford Street, on seriously ill list. Miss Colleen Peoples. Hastings Street, concussion, condition satisfactory. The car was travelling down Hackthorne Road, and, in attempting to negotiate a corner at the foot of the hill, it crashed into the pole. The driver. Thomas Johnston Morrow. of Bray Street, escaped uninjured."
