Biographical Notes:

On a drogue towing mission, from Bell Block, took off at 1530, and failed to return. Morey’s remains were recovered from the sea 10 days later. The drogue operator, Thomas Davies, remains are lost and he is commemorated on the Wellington Provincial Memorial at Karori. It is believed that they crashed or ditched between Waitara and New Plymouth [For Your Tomorrow, Errol Martyn, Vol.1 p.277]
