Biographical Notes:

“CORPORAL R. W. ELLIS. Advice was received in Christchurch yesterday that Corporal Reuben William Ellis, Canterbury Battalion, who was reported recently as wounded and dangerously ill, has died of his wounds. Corporal Ellis was the second son of Mr and Mrs William Ellis, of 79 Ollivier's Road, Linwood, and was 21 years old. He was education [sic] at the Opawa School. Before he enlisted he was employed by Bradley Bros, as a glass beveller.
