Victor was born on the 8th November 1917 . Worked at the Self Help Grocery store in Wellington and Lower Hutt and was working as the manager of the Petone branch when he was called up to the army . Victor died after a German Stuka plane dived and bombed them in the Libyan desert . His parents ( my grandparents ) did not receive news of his death until the 8th March 1942 . He left New Zealand in Sept 1941 and died a few months later aged 24 years. [NZWGT - record has since been amended]
