Biographical Notes:

The death occurred at the Waikato Hospital on March 9th, of Walter Beville Wade, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Wade of Monavale,

The deceased, who was only 22 years of age at the time of his death, left New Zealand with the 13th Reinforcements. He was very well known around the Cambridge district. The funeral took place yesterday at the Pukerimu cemetery, in the presence of a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends.

As the cortege reached the cemetery four returned soldiers were observed on the roadside standing at the salute. They fell in behind the funeral, and on arrival at the cemetery carried their dead comrade from the hearse to the graveside, and assisted in the sad duty of lowering the coffin into the grave.

The burial service was also conducted by a returned soldier in the person of Canon Williams.
