Biographical Notes:

The friends of Mr and Mrs A. G. Mackay, of Wicksteed Street, will hear with deep regret of the death early this morning of their son, Corporal Eric Godfrey Mackay, who was only in his 22nd year. He was invalided back to New Zealand, after two years’ service, in January, suffering from an injured knee, but illness of a more serious nature intervened later, to which he has now succumbed. Prior to enlisting he was on the local staff of the National Bank of New Zealand. He was a very bright and promising young fellow, and his sorrowing parents and their family will be the recipients of sincere sympathy in their bereavement."
