“The death occurred at Tauranga on Sunday of Mr Keith Dunwoodie Page, a prominent member of a number of sporting bodies in the district. Born at Remuera 43 years ago. Mr Page was a son of Mrs J. Andrews, of Auckland, and the late Mr C. M. Page.

He was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, and then took up a position with the New Zealand Insurance Company, and as district inspector of the company he made his headquarters at Tauranga. Mr Page married Miss C. Fleming, of Paeroa, about 16 years ago. During the Second World War, Mr Page served as a member of the Third Division of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Pacific, and held the rank of captain. Soon after his return, he purchased the jewellery establishment of L. A. Bowen, the Strand, which he operated until the time of his death.

As a tireless worker, Mr Page was a valuable acquisition to every organisation with which he became associated. At one time he was director of the Tauranga Rotary Club, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Tauranga Club.

He was a president of the Tauranga Golf Club, and a former secretary, a former president and life member of the Tauranga Lawn Tennis Club, and a former president of the Bay of Plenty Lawn Tennis Sub-Association. As a member of the Tauranga Racing Club, Mr Page had also acted as clerk of scales. He had also been a keen rowing enthusiast, and swimmer of merit. He wore the St. Georges Rowing Club colours, and was a life member of this club. Mr Page is survived by his wife, a small son, Graeme, and a sister, Mrs L. H. Steele, of First Avenue.
