Biographical Notes:

"A military funeral took place at Port Chalmers on Wednesday, Lance-corporal D.H. Foreman, of the Military Police, having succumbed to the epidemic the previous day. The deceased soldier was much respected amongst his many friends, and his loss will be felt greatly by his comrades. The ' Last Post' was sounded by one of the deceased's comrades.
