Biographical Notes:

Sergeant Eric Rudolph England Jacobsen, aged 42, when riding a motorcycle on the Sumner-Redcliffs road collided with an Army truck near Shag Rock on November 20. He was killed. Evidence was given by Signalman J. G. Stanton, the driver of the truck, who said that as the driver of the cycle neared the truck his machine appeared to wobble, and a collision ensued. A second man riding with Jacobsen was also injured. “I cannot account for the accident,” he said, “as the visibility was good." The inquiry was adjourned sine die in order to obtain medical evidence.
