Albert does not appear in Australian archives. His date of death varies - "In Memoriam" (Watt) and the Nominal Roll has 20th January1902, headstone 30th January 1901. He is recorded at The Australian War Memorial.

 

" Our Elthan Resident Agent writes:- Mr F Sisley (formerly of Normanby) has received the following letter from the Chief Staff Officer New South Wales Military Forces:- " I regtret to have to inform you that a cablegram has been received from the Chief Casualty Officer, Capetown, notifying that your son, No 930, Farrier Sergeant A.W.Sisley, D Squadron,2nd Regiment Mounted Rifles, is dangerously ill with enteric fever at Middleburg, Transvaal, and at the same time am desired by the Major-General commanding to convey to you his sympathy and to express the hope that your son will make a rapid recovery". The many friends in the district of the Sisley family will echo the wish of the Major-General commanding."  Hawera and Normanby Star 13th January 1902
