Biographical Notes:

" Pilot Officer Brian Taylor, of Huiroa, lost his life by drowning at Oakura Beach, Taranaki, this afternoon. He was swimming with his wife when both were caught in a rip and swept out to sea. Mrs. Taylor held her husband, up, but he became exhausted and disappeared. Mrs. Taylor was rescued with the aid of a surf reel by A. E. Flynn, Public Works engineer, Stratford."
