"Lance-Corporal Charles William McMillan,who had a foot blown off by the explosion of a plug of gelignite at a miliary camp, on Wednesday evening, died yesterday in the Wairau Hospital. Deceased was aged 58 and a veteran of the Great War. He was at one time a representative Rugby footballer."
