Biographical Notes:

Was a regular soldier in the New Zealand Army with the rank of Captain and was stationed at the Headquarters of the Canterbury Mounted Rifles when war was declared. He served in Egypt from 4/12/1914 until 1/02/1915 and then returned to New Zealand., where he was discharged from the New Zealand Army on 5/04/1915 following his resignation.
