"Ernest John Goodison is charged on warrant, with deserting his wife, Ruby a'Beckett Goodison, 174 George street, Fitzroy, at Fitzroy, on 21st inst. Description:- A bottle wirer, 24 years of age, about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, medium build, fair hair, clean shaven, blue eyes, four false teeth in top jaw in front of mouth, right wrist swollen, rising sun and clasped hands tattooed on right arm. ... 22nd March 1912" [Victoria Police Gazette, March 28, 1912, p180] Stated he was single when completing his attestation paper.
