Biographical Notes:

Private Francis William Poll, son of Constable Poll, of Papakura, was drowned when a vehicle fell over a 12ft bank and overturned in a stream during cross-country manoeuvres yesterday. Three others imprisoned in the vehicle were rescued and removed to the Kawakawa Hospital suffering from shock.
