Biographical Notes:

“The death is announced at Christchurch of Trooper Frank Culverhouse, son of Mr George Culverhouse, Cambridge Street, Ashburton. The late Trooper Culverhouse left New Zealand with the Tenth Reinforcements. He was badly injured over a year ago, and was on his way back to New Zealand, but, becoming too weak to continue his voyage, he was taken off the troopship for treatment at Albany. After remaining in the Albany Hospital for some months, he had sufficiently recovered to continue the journey home. On arrival in New Zealand he was still a cot case, and was taken to the Christchurch Hospital, where he died on Saturday last. Deceased was 30 years of age.” [Ashburton Guardian, Volume XXXVIII, Issue 9148, 19 November 1917, Page 5]
