Biographical Notes:

Two Sopwith Camels, both painted in camouflage collided over RNZAF Harewood, while “in the circuit”. Locked together, they crashed killing both pilots, Frank Goldsmith and James Mead. Following this incident, trainer aircraft were repainted in, the now familiar, yellow. [For Your Tomorrow, Errol Martyn, Vol.1 p.225]
