Bomford, Takapuna, has received official advice of the death on active service of her son, Pilot Officer John Hamilton Bomford, who was well known in Hamilton as a reporter on the New Zealand Herald’s local staff. Born 24 years ago, Pilot Officer Bomford was educated at the Takapuna Grammar School, and then joined the staff of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company.
