Biographical Notes:

Peter Dobson was helping out a local farm, while on leave from RAF Mepal, Cambridgeshire. On the evening of the 8th September, he ran to the assistance of a Stirling bomber that crashed on take-off for a raid on Boulogne, and was killed alongside a WAAF and 2 civilians, when the bombs exploded on the stricken aircraft. The Captain was Ian Menzies, RNZAF, also buried in this cemetery.
