Biographical Notes:

" A serious motor car accident occurred at Carterton at 2.30 this morning. Two men. Gunner R. D. Wilson, aged 26, and Mr Henry Ihaia Hutana, a Home Guardsman, of Porangahau, aged about 26. were travelling from Waipukurau to the Wellington district. Hutana was driving the car, which crashed into an electric power pole. Both men were injured. Gunner Wilson seriously, and were admitted to the Greytown Hospital. Inquiries today revealed that Gunner Wilson's condition is critical. He is suffering from severe head injuries. Mr Hutana is suffering from facial abrasions and shock."
