Biographical Notes:

Robert Kenny had previously entered camp at Trentham on 15 December 1914, service number 8/1530, but it is unclear from his service record how long he served after that. There is, however, a note on his record that he was posted as a deserter on 5 April 1915. Re-enlisted and posted to the New Zealand Medical Corps on 8 June 1916 and appears to have been discharged as medically unfit, suffering from tuberculosis, in August 1917. Applied in May 1919 to re-attest for service whilst under medical treatment.

“KENNY.—On February 22nd, 1920, at Military Hospital, Wellington, Robert Douglas, dearly beloved second son of Robert Douglas and Elizabeth Kenny, of St. Clair. Dunedin.” [Evening Star, Issue 17284, 24 February 1920, Page 4]
