Biographical Notes:

Said to have fallen ill on the march to Koodrosrand Drift and invalided to Kimberley. Casualty records have him dying in hospital in Kimberley. Watt could not locate a headstone or any further information on his burial when compiling "In Memoriam" . His brother Norman also served in South Africa with Roberts' Horse. As they could not join the NZ Forces due to height and horsemanship skills, the brothers paid their own passage to South Africa.
