Biographical Notes:

"Privates Leonard, Leslie and Edwin Newlove, of Takaka, Tasman, were all killed within eight days of each other at the Battles of Broodseinde and Passchendaele. Leonard died fighting with the 3rd Battalion, Auckland Infantry Regiment, at Broodseinde on 04 October, aged 41. Leslie and Edwin, both fighting in the 2nd Battalion, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, died at the attack at Bellevue Spur on 12 October, aged 22 and 32 respectively."
