Biographical Notes:

All Black number 139. Played 1 test match in 1905. Left for the UK with the "All Golds", a rebel professional team ( with Lancelot Todd) in 1907. Played Rugby League from 1909 -1914 for St Helens, Lancashire, U.K.

His son, Captain Alan Cecil Turtill was killed in Libya in 1941 serving with the New Zealand Infantry and is buried in Knightsbridge War Cemetery, Acroma.
