Biographical Notes:

 "A fatal accident occurred on the Main South road two miles south of Hamilton at 6.30 on Friday evening when a soldier was killed. He was Corporal Trevor Stephen Buckett, aged about 23, married, of Hopuhopu military camp. Corporal Buckett was riding a motor cycle between Hopuhopu camp and his home at Turakina road, Te Awamutu, when he was involved in a collision with a light truck.
