Biographical Notes:

“In the obituary column appears a notice of the death in France from Bronchitis of Private Alfred Eric Waller, second son of Mrs. Annie Waller, nurse of Te Kuiti. Private Waller left New Zealand with the 8th Reinforcements, was wounded in the battle of the Somme and after the recovery was engaged in the battle of October 12th last. This is the second son of Mrs. Waller who has made the supreme sacrifice.” [Waikato Independent, Volume XIX, Issue 2035, 28 March 1918, Page 4]
