Biographical Notes:

"After an illness lasting two months, Mr Arthur Francis Humphries Sutherland, elder son of Mr and Mrs B Sutherland, of Karori, has died in Wellington. For the past 12 years he hsd been managing director of the Self-Help Co-operative Limited, and of National Distributors,Limited. Born in Wellington in 1908, Mr Sutherland was educated at Wellington College and Waitaki Boys’ High School. At an early age he entered his father’s business, and later became a member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants.. It was at his suggestion that the Sutherland Self-Help Trust was founded last year."
