Flying a Martlet , he swung violently on take-off and crashed into parked aircraft.  [ For Your Tomorrow, Errol Martyn, Vol 2 p 52]

His name is misspelled on the headstone.

I was in Mombasa two weeks ago and took a photograph of Arthur Thompson's headstone. The cemetery is very well kept and a pleasure to visit.
