Public Contributions:

Harry Edward TAYLOR (alias John Edward STONE) served with my great-grandfather, William Edward Todd no. 65. They died together in Pozieres, France, on 3rd August 1916. A written account states "Sergt. Todd had often said that if his officer (Lieut. Stone) were killed he would be killed too". In a newspaper tribute to my great-grandfather, my great-grandmother remembers "his dear comrade, Lieutenant Stone". "Comrades in life & by death they were not divided".
