Private

Norman Thompson

Conflict:
Anglo Boer War
NZ WAR GRAVES

Biographical Notes:

There is some confusion over this casualty. It would appear that N Thompson served with the 1st New South Wales Mounted Rifles and is shown on the Australian Boer War Nominal Roll as Private Norman E Thompson, service number 455. There is no indication he was born in New Zealand or had any association with New Zealand. There was a Norman E [Edgar] Thompson born in Camden, New South Wales in 1863, parents Henry and Ann Thompson, who appears to be the same person. This casualty is now only included as he appears on the memorial at Kroonstad as a New Zealander.
