"Advice that her husband, Lieutenant T. G. Quilter, was killed while serving in North Africa has been received by Mrs Quilter, of Mataura. Lieutenant Quilter, who was a member of a well-known Mataura family, was born at Waitahuna, being a son of Mrs and the late Mr T. F. Quilter, of Mataura. He received his education at the Mataura School, the Southland Technical College, and the University of Otago, where he qualified as a civil engineer. For some time he was engaged by the late Mr E.
